Senior Software Developer - KLPTK

Aspire Software is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our team in Lebanon.

Here is a little window into our company: Aspire Software operates and manages wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, Aspire delivers a time sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.

About the job:

We're looking for a Senior Software Developer to join Klopotek's engineering team from our Beirut office. You will work remotely alongside our development team in Gioia del Colle, Italy – building and evolving the Java backend services, Oracle databases and Angular frontends that underpin the workflows of major global publishers.

This is a senior, full-stack role with a backend focus. Most of your work will be on the server side – APIs, data layer, business logic and integration – and you will also work on our Angular web frontend. What matters most is depth on the Java side and the ability to think about systems as a whole: how components interact, where things fail, and how to

build for reliability. We are an AI-first engineering team. We expect you to use AI tools as much as possible across the whole development lifecycle – understanding legacy code, designing solutions, writing code and tests, reviewing, debugging and documenting – and to help shape how the rest of the team does the same. You stay fully accountable for the quality of what

ships. You will be joining a small but growing Klopotek team in Lebanon – four colleagues are already working with us from Beirut, and this role is part of a deliberate expansion of our engineering presence there. You'll have a genuine peer group locally, and work closely with the Italian development team day to day.

This is not a role that rewards knowing the right buzzwords. It is a role for someone who is self-driven, technically grounded and genuinely excited about learning. We want someone who challenges ideas, proposes better approaches, raises the bar for the people around them, and takes ownership from concept through to production.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java Senior AI Developer – Job Description
• Work with Oracle databases: schema design, query optimisation and data layer development
• Build and extend frontend features in Angular
• Translate requirements and use cases into clean, maintainable and well-tested code

• Shape the technical design of features and components – service boundaries, data consistency, failure modes
• Identify bottlenecks, debug issues and drive continuous performance improvements
• Use AI tools across your whole workflow – analysing unfamiliar and legacy code, drafting designs, generating code and tests, reviewing changes, debugging and writing documentation – and verify every result
• Find new ways to applyAI in the team's daily work, share what works, and help colleagues adopt it
• Lead and take part in code reviews – give and receive honest, constructive feedback, including on AI-generated code
• Collaborate asynchronously and synchronously with the Italian development team and cross-functional stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced developers
• Write and maintain technical documentation that the next person can actually use

How YouWork

• We're hiring for mindset as much as skills. The right person for this role:
• Is genuinely curious and self-driven – you learn because you want to, not because you have to Works AI-first – your default is to ask how AI can help with a task, and you have built real habits around it
• Knows AI's limits – you check its output, catch its mistakes and never ship code you don't understand
• Thinks in systems – you consider how components interact, where things break, and how to design for resilience, not just for the happy path
• Solves problems even when the path isn't obvious – you investigate, experiment and iterate
• Raises the bar for others – through reviews, pairing and documentation, not through hierarchy
• Communicates clearly and proactively in a distributed team – you don't wait to be chased, you flag blockers early and keep colleagues informed
• Challenges ideas constructively and is comfortable being challenged in return
• Takes ownership of features end-to-end, not just your assigned ticket
• Is comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements

Requirements

• Typically 6+ years of professional software development
• Java backend development – Java 8+ with JPA and either Spring Boot or JAX-RS; ORM experience (Hibernate or equivalent)
• Relational database fluency – strong SQL and schema design skills; Oracle experience preferred, PostgreSQL or MySQL accepted
• System design thinking – experience architecting multi-component systems; comfortable reasoning about service boundaries, data consistency and failure modes
• Proven, hands-on use ofAI tools as a core part of your daily development workflow (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar) – with concrete examples of how they changed the way you work
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience with Agile methodologies and fast-paced delivery cycles
• Professional-level English, written and verbal – your primary working language with the Italian team

Nice to Have

• Frontend: TypeScript, Angular 2+, HTML5, CSS/Sass – this is the stack we work in
• Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL
• Experience with AI agents, prompt and context engineering, or the Model Context
• Protocol (MCP) to automate parts of the development process
• Experience introducing AI-assisted development or testing practices in a team
• Microservices architecture and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD pipelines – Jenkins, GitHub Actions or equivalent; comfort with self-managed deployment
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, DigitalOcean)
• Familiarity with JBoss WildFly, Keycloak, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2 or JWT
• Familiarity with ActiveMQ/AMQ or Elasticsearch
• You don't need to tick every box. We value the ability to learn quickly and adapt over an exact match on the tech stack.

What We Value

• Learning over knowing
• Curiosity over routine
• Adaptability over rigidity
• Problem-solving over box-tickin
• Ownership over task execution
• Honest, direct collaboration over hierarchy
