Senior Technical Artist - AI & Creative Automation

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Artist - AI & Creative Automation to help shape how AI is used across our creative production teams.

This role sits at the intersection of art, engineering, AI, and production. It is for someone who can recognize what great creative work looks like and build reliable systems that help teams create, evaluate, refine, and deliver that work at scale.

You’ll design and ship AI-powered tools, agents, automation, and production workflows used across our mobile games. You’ll work closely with artists, designers, animators, developers, and other technical partners to identify high-impact problems, prototype solutions quickly, and turn the best ideas into dependable production systems.

We’re looking for someone with exceptional artistic judgment, strong technical depth, and a practical understanding of modern AI. You understand how artists think and make creative decisions, and you can translate that understanding into tools and systems that preserve creative intent while increasing speed, quality, consistency, and team capability.

You should be curious about emerging technologies, but practical about what belongs in production. You know how to evaluate whether AI is actually the right solution, when conventional automation is better, and where human creative judgment must remain part of the process.

You’ll own your work from the first experiment through deployment, adoption, measurement, and ongoing improvement.

What You’ll Do

Design, build, deploy, and maintain AI agents, creative tools, scripts, applications, and automated workflows that accelerate creative and technical production.

Work closely with artists, designers, animators, developers, and production teams to identify bottlenecks and rethink how work gets done.

Build end-to-end pipelines for generating, editing, evaluating, processing, integrating, and delivering creative assets across game art, marketing, animation, video, audio, and related disciplines.

Integrate commercial AI APIs, open-source models, creative applications, game-development tools, and internal systems into reliable production workflows.

Apply strong artistic judgment to ensure outputs meet high standards for composition, color, lighting, style, character identity, consistency, and storytelling.

Develop usable internal applications and interfaces that allow non-technical team members to use sophisticated AI and automation tools effectively.

Evaluate new models and tools against real production needs, balancing quality, controllability, speed, cost, licensing, scalability, and reliability.

Build and maintain production systems with appropriate authentication, access control, logging, monitoring, error handling, and operational visibility.

Apply responsible AI production practices, including appropriate handling of proprietary data, model and asset licensing, access permissions, and human review.

Document systems, share knowledge, mentor team members, and help successful tools become part of everyday production.

Measure impact through time saved, faster delivery, improved quality and consistency, reduced repetitive work, cost efficiency, and team adoption.

Requirements

Artistic Skills & Creative Production

• Professional experience in art, graphic design, animation, motion graphics, VFX, technical art, game art, or a closely related visual discipline.
• Strong foundations in composition, color, lighting, perspective, visual hierarchy, and storytelling.
• Practical experience with creative tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Blender, Maya, or equivalent applications.
• Ability to translate art direction into repeatable systems while preserving character identity, visual style, and brand guidelines.
• Strong understanding of creative production pipelines, including ideation, feedback, revisions, delivery, integration, and technical constraints.

Programming & Technical Development

• Strong practical skills in Python and JavaScript, including Node.js, for automation, tooling, AI integration, and production workflows.
• Experience building tools, services, integrations, or applications using modern development technologies.
• Strong API, MCP, and CLI integration skills, including asynchronous jobs, batch processing, structured outputs, retries, and failure handling.
• Working knowledge of deploying and maintaining applications, including hosting, authentication, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Comfortable with Git, GitHub, open-source repositories, dependency management, and shared production codebases.
• Ability to understand, review, debug, and maintain the code you ship, including code developed with AI assistance.

AI Models, Agents & Automation

• Proven experience building AI-powered tools, agents, automations, or workflows used in real production.
• Experience with agentic systems that use tools and APIs, manage multi-step tasks, validate results, and recover from failures.
• Strong experience with generative image, video, and audio AI models, such as GPT Image 2.5, Seedance 2.5, Kling 3, Nano Banana Pro, and ElevenLabs
• Ability to evaluate and switch between commercial APIs, hosted services, and open-source models based on production needs.
• Strong prompt engineering skills, including system instructions, context management, prompt routing, and output validation, with the ability to get reliable, structured outputs from LLMs
• Familiarity with open-source AI ecosystems and node-based generative workflows such as ComfyUI or equivalent systems.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, or equivalent systems, while maintaining ownership of code quality and technical decisions.

Experience & Ownership

• Typically 5+ years of relevant experience across technical art, creative technology, production tooling, software development for creative teams, or adjacent disciplines.
• Substantial recent experience applying AI and automation to creative or production workflows.
• A track record of taking ambiguous problems from exploration through prototype, deployment, adoption, and support.
• Evidence that you have built systems used by teams, not only personal tools or experiments.
• Ability to balance experimentation with production reliability and know when a workflow is ready to scale.
• Strong communication skills across creative, technical, production, and non-technical teams

Exceptional candidates with less traditional tenure but strong evidence of production-scale impact, technical depth, artistic judgment, and ownership are encouraged to apply.

Mindset

• You are self-directed, curious, proactive, and constantly looking for meaningful ways to improve production.
• You maintain a high bar for both creative quality and technical quality.
• You are practical about automation and understand when AI adds real value—and when it does not.
• You care about adoption as much as invention. A technically impressive tool that nobody uses is not a successful production system.

Nice to Have

You do not need to have every item below.

• Experience creating plugins, extensions, or automation for tools such as Photoshop, After Effects, Blender, Maya, Unity, or similar applications.
• Experience with Unity scripting or game-engine pipeline development.
• Experience fine-tuning, adapting, or customizing generative models.
• Experience running GPU-based AI workloads or local/self-hosted models.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, model serving, queues, or scalable inference systems.
• Experience working in mobile games, live-service games, or high-volume creative production environments.

Benefits

Why This Role Is Different

• You’ll build production tools used by a team of 30+ creatives across six live games.
• You’ll have the ownership to rethink workflows from the ground up and see successful ideas become part of everyday production.
• You’ll work directly across art, engineering, AI, and production.
• You’ll solve real production challenges with direct feedback from the people using what you build.
• You’ll help shape how we use AI as a creative organization—from the technologies we adopt to the standards and responsible practices behind them.
• Your success will be measured by production impact, not simply by the number of prototypes you create.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, we expect you to have:

• Shipped AI-powered or automated workflows that are actively used in production.
• Reduced meaningful production bottlenecks or repetitive creative work.
• Demonstrated measurable improvements in speed, quality, consistency, cost, or team capability.
• Established reusable systems or approaches that can scale across multiple teams, games, or creative disciplines.

Show Us What You’ve Built

We want to see both your creative judgment and technical thinking.

Alongside your CV, please share a portfolio and two or three relevant projects. These might include production tools, AI agents, automated workflows, creative applications, model pipelines, custom integrations, or other systems you have built.

For each project, please tell us:

1. What problem were you solving?
2. What did you personally design or build?
3. What did the final output or workflow look like?
4. How did it improve the work or production process?

We’re especially interested in projects that moved beyond experimentation and were used by real people in production.

Demos, workflow breakdowns, before-and-after examples, architecture diagrams, code samples, evaluation approaches, and examples of real production use are all welcome.
