About the Team

Beam’s AI Agent Deployment team sits at the intersection of AI, product, and client impact. We partner closely with customers to understand their workflows, design intelligent automation solutions, and ensure our agents deliver real business value. Our work spans workflow design, agent configuration, technical integration, and ongoing optimization. We collaborate with engineering, ML, and product teams to translate abstract problems into scalable, agentic systems that work in the real world. This is a high-context, high-ownership environment where Deployment engineers operate with autonomy, move fast, and shape both how Beam’s platform evolves and how our customers succeed.

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll sit at the intersection of AI, product, and customer success. You own the full lifecycle of automation delivery, from discovery through deployment, working directly with enterprise clients to turn complex workflows into scalable, AI-powered solutions using Beam's Agent OS.

This is a high-context, high-ownership role. You'll spend your time in client conversations, prompt engineering, workflow decomposition, integration planning, and close collaboration with product and engineering. You'll shape not just individual client outcomes but the platform itself through structured feedback from the field.

Responsibilities

Your work will involve both prompt engineering excellence and close customer collaboration. You will be expected to:

• Partner with enterprise customers to identify automation opportunities, gather requirements, and translate business problems into agent-powered solutions
• Design and build agentic automations using Beam's Agent OS. This includes scoping workflows, engineering prompts, and configuring integrations
• Manage delivery end-to-end: timelines, client expectations, and stakeholder communication across technical and executive audiences
• Troubleshoot and iterate on live automations by diagnosing issues, refining prompts, and improving performance
• Collaborate with product and engineering to scope features, surface platform gaps, and feed customer insights back into the roadmap
• Act as a strategic advisor to clients on AI adoption, workflow automation best practices, and integration architecture

Requirements

• 2-3 years in a client-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineer, Implementation Consultant, Deployment Engineer, Customer Engineer, or similar
• Strong project management and communication skills. You can run delivery timelines, manage client expectations, and explain technical concepts clearly to both engineers and executives
• Demonstrated prompt engineering expertise. You've systematically written, tested, and optimized prompts in production or near-production settings
• Experience automating workflows with AI. You've used AI to automate real business processes, not just experimented in sandboxes
• Solid API knowledge and integration experience. You're comfortable scoping and coordinating API-based integrations with external systems
• Analytical, process-driven thinking. You can take a messy business workflow, break it into structured components, and design an automation approach

Nice to Have

• AI/ML background or hands-on experience applying AI to business workflows
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment

How We Hire

• Our process includes a case study where you'll work on a realistic automation challenge: designing an extraction prompt, building a project plan, and presenting your approach. We want to see how you think, not just what you know.

Benefits

At Beam, we’re building an environment where ambitious people can do their best work, with clarity, purpose, and room to grow. We’re thoughtful about what we build, how we work, and who we hire. The problems we’re solving are real. The systems we’re building are complex. And the people here care deeply, about craft, about speed, and about doing work that actually matters. You won’t find rigid hierarchies or endless process here. You’ll find high trust, high standards, and a team driven by curiosity, ownership, and long-term thinking.

Our culture is shaped by our values in action:

• AI-native thinking: Every teammate thinks in agentic workflows, uses AI tools daily, and looks for leverage through automation. AI isn’t just what we build, it's how we operate.
• Customer obsession: We build with urgency and empathy, speak to customers early and often, and measure success through their outcomes.
• Speed as a habit: We ship fast, learn faster, and prioritise unblocking over perfection. We favour small experiments with tight feedback loops.
• Leverage-focused execution: We hire high-impact players, invest in the 20% that drives 80% of results, and value candid feedback.
• Highly aligned, loosely coupled: We align on outcomes, not tasks. You’ll work independently, but never in isolation.
• Data-driven, human-guided: We seek clarity over comfort, speak up early, and use feedback to grow together.

If this sounds like the kind of work you want to do and the kind of team you want to grow with, we’d love to hear from you!
