Aspire Software is looking for a AI Developer to join our team in Lebanon.
Here is a little window into our company: Aspire Software operates and manages wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, Aspire delivers a time sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.
About the job:
We're looking for a Software Developer to join the engineering team from our Beirut office. You will work remotely alongside our development team in Gioia del Colle, Italy – building and evolving the Java backend services, Oracle databases and Angular frontends that underpin the workflows of major global publishers.
This is a full-stack role with a backend focus and real room to grow. Most of your work will be on the server side – APIs, data layer and business logic – and you will also contribute to our Angular web frontend. You will take ownership of well-defined features, work closely with senior developers on design, and grow towards owning larger parts of the system. We are an AI-first engineering team. We expect you to use AI tools as much as possible in your daily work – to understand existing code, write code and tests, debug and document – while understanding and taking responsibility for everything you ship.
You will be joining a small but growing Klopotek team in Lebanon – four colleagues are already working with us from Beirut, and this role is part of a deliberate expansion of our engineering presence there. You'll have a genuine peer group locally, and work closely with the Italian development team day to day.
This is not a role that rewards knowing the right buzzwords. It is a role for someone who is selfdriven, technically grounded and genuinely excited about learning – and who takes ownership of their work from concept through to production.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java
- Work with Oracle databases: queries, schema changes and data layer development
- Build frontend features in Angular – with support from the team while you get up to speed
- Translate requirements and use cases into clean, maintainable and well-tested code
- Debug issues, fix defects and help improve performance
- Use AI tools throughout your work – exploring unfamiliar code, generating code and tests, debugging and writing documentation – and check every result before it ships
- Share useful AI techniques with the team and learn from how others use them
- Participate in code reviews – give and receive honest, constructive feedback
- Collaborate asynchronously and synchronously with the Italian development team
- Write technical documentation that the next person can actually use
How You Work
- We're hiring for mindset as much as skills. The right person for this role:
- Is genuinely curious and self-driven – you learn because you want to, not because you have to
- Works AI-first – you reach for AI tools by default and keep improving how you use them
- Stays critical – you test what AI gives you and never ship code you don't understand
- Thinks beyond the happy path – you ask how components interact and where things can break
- Solves problems even when the path isn't obvious – you investigate, experiment and iterate, and ask for help at the right moment
- Learns from feedback – you welcome code review and use it to get better
- Communicates clearly and proactively in a distributed team – you flag blockers early and keep colleagues informed
- Takes ownership of your features end-to-end, not just the ticket
- Is comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements
Requirements
- Typically 2–5 years of professional software development
- Java backend development – Java 8+ with Spring Boot or JAX-RS; working knowledge of JPA/Hibernate or another ORM
- Good SQL skills with a relational database; Oracle experience preferred, PostgreSQL or MySQL accepted
- Regular, hands-on use of AI tools in your development work (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar) – with examples of how they help you
- Familiarity with Git, code review and Agile ways of working
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team
- Professional-level English, written and verbal – your primary working language with the Italian team
Nice to Have
- Frontend: TypeScript, Angular 2+, HTML5, CSS/Sass – this is the stack we work in; we expect you to grow into it on the job
- Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL
- Experience with prompt and context engineering or AI agents for development tasks
- Docker and CI/CD basics (Jenkins, GitHub Actions or equivalent)
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, DigitalOcean)
- Familiarity with JBoss WildFly, Keycloak, OAuth 2 or JWT
- Familiarity with ActiveMQ/AMQ or Elasticsearch
- You don't need to tick every box. We value the ability to learn quickly and adapt over an exact match on the tech stack.
What We Value
- Learning over knowing
- Curiosity over routine
- Adaptability over rigidity
- Problem-solving over box-ticking
- Ownership over task execution
- Honest, direct collaboration over hierarchy
